Ed, this is possibly just my problem because I sadly still live in the dial-up Dark Ages, but some members have chosen avatars which seem to first load as hi-res page-wide pics before they reduce down to small avatar size, and it really slows things down. Is there a way I can disable avatars in my preferences? Thanks!

Rick

I can only control it when members upload images to our website but if they are pointing it to their own website... I have no way to control it. And I guess its the case you are refering to..

All I can do is:
1, Disable the Avatar Function
2, Post a annoucement to info. other members this potential inconvienience for other members.
3, I manualy took out those Avators which are huge in size

I think I shall go with option 2 and see how it go first!
