I am the proud owner of a Collings D-2H which is my main flatpicking guitar. I also own a 1980 Martin HD-28 which has the opened-up sound we all lust after. My Lowden F-32 is my favorite fingerstyle guitar. I expect this forum to be tolerant and appreciative of the many fine manufacturers and luthiers who slave away at producing the various great guitars we have all enjoyed. Collings guitars can take their place amongst the best of the best and the Collings owners and players I've met are more than gracious when it comes to other fine guitars. I am happy to be an early member of this forum. Some may know me from the Acoustic Guitar Forum and the Unofficial Martin Guitar forum. I am here to learn and to share.
Regards,
Mike Gilles

Thanks for your kind words, I totally agree with what you have said.

While I love my Collings, I also love my Thompson T1DL, My Bougeois 00012.. and I also owned several Martins in the past.

While we all love our gear. I think the playing is more important to us!!

We welcome great suggestions and review on quality guitars from different makes... We just love to hear them...

That way some of us could check for mistakes before posting to the forum.

Everything looks great and I'm excited to be here sharing information with other Collings enthusiasts.

Hat's off to filling a great void for Collings fans.

Check out the PRS Forum as a comparison. I think they have a great community and depth of information---It's been going for a while, so I'm sure it evolved significantly over time.

A For Sale area is always helpful--as long as you segregate the commercial dealers from the individual sellers.

Best wishes--

Thanks for your kind words, I shall go to the PRS forum and take a look.. I have never visit there before..

This is the aim of the Buy and Sell forum to be for private sellers and buyers to trade their beloved guitar. I don't have any objections for dealer's advertisement there if it is a good deal, a special guitar they want to offer to us enthusiasts or a special offer for Forum members. (Actually, it is most welcome!)

But I will keep a close monitor if its been abused too much by commecial sectors.
