Has anyone tried these? Just curious.

I've recently tried the 80/20s. Do you mean these or the phosphor bronze?

I'm a phosphor bronze guy, but I'm curious about your experience with 'em. Particularly - how do they measure up, compared to other coated strings, in terms of tone, feel & longevity?
Thanks. |

Oops. The "Infinity" part didn't register. I tried the regular 80/20s, but not the Infinity.
Went through the coated string trials a couple of years ago, and found I preferred (or was used to) the tone of regular strings. Regular phosphor bronze on Collings D1A varnish and wife's Santa Cruz 000-12. 80/20 on Santa Cruz Tony Rice. All John Pearse now. GHS had a fine tone and volume on the TR, but were noticeably less flexible, and just a tad thunky on the 6th string, compared to JP. |
