I just uninstalled an I-beam leaving that 1/2 inch hole where a 1/4 inch jack should be....This may be old news for most but I found out that another alternative solution to a replacement end pin that covers the gap is Taylors factory end pin.....Its really a smart idea.....Apparently Taylor pre-drills each and every Taylor for a pick-up jack.....For guitars delivered without they fashion a really nice black anodized end pin that is screwed into a recieving washer.....The end pin looks like ebony, is secured better than most and covers the end block perfectly....Most shops that do installs of pick-ups for Taylors should have the discarded end pins around.....

Thanks for sharing! A smart idea from Taylor.
The good thing is, you can reinstall the 1/4 inch jack anytime you want. ____________________________________________________________ Collings OM2HAV Collings Baby2HBbA |

It is a great idea! Incidentally my non-electro Tacoma Papoose came with the exact same hole and 1/2" endpin.
I know Collings have nothing to do with pickups and I fully understand why, but maybe offering a '1/2" hole with oversize endpin' as an option would cause no trouble in production, and it could be appreciated by many owners. What do you think? |

I like the idea......plus it limits the risk of a screwed up installation......
