Hi,

I am getting an order together for a Collings C-10SB.I am considering the following options:OM neck with Waverlies,1 3/4 nut width upgrade,24.9 short scale and tiger strip pickguard.
Any thoughts on the 24.9 scale, OM neck and 1 3/4"nut width upgrade?
I am seeking a 1930's R.Johnson, blind Blake sound and look.

Thanks,

Ken

I would go with the OM neck and wider nut, but I'd opt for the standard scale length myself...and no pickguard...and a cutaway. Well, you asked. Smile

I have one that is off the shelf (1 3/4 " nut). It already has that vintage sound. Not sure how the add-ons would improve what you are after.

OM neck, wide nut, regular scale, light sunburst, pickguard in the case. sounds like a Camper to me. I'll take it.

As a monor variation to the Gibson burst, a C-10 with a lighter burst might be good. Darker and more brown at the edges than the Camper burst. I'm partial to mine (see below). It suits the tone I'm getting outta Little Bertha. 1 3/4" is a must for me, the scale length need not be short for the tone, the OM neck is something that I wouldn't mind having for my thumb, and the tiger stripe thing is your call.

Um ... yea. This board won't seem to let me edit after the first 60 minutes of a post. That sucks. Sooooo ... don't think I can fix it.

Take my word for it, it's a nice burst.

P.S. Well they seem to be coming and going now. It's a crap shoot! Good luck.
