I just bought my first Collins D3 today in Austin. Do they not come with special truss rod adjusting tools?.. Or what is to be used.....Never thought to ask the dealor. I have no intention of doing anything at this point it is set up great But for future reference. I have played long enought to know how to adjust a neck... Any answers?
Congrats on your D3. I read the posts in the other thread, so I know of your decision-making process. I've had my D3 for about three years now, and it sounds as good as any guitar I have ever played. And I love its exquisite and tasteful beauty, and also the fact that it's not just another herringbone!
Anyway, call the nice and always helpful folks at Collings, and they'll send you the appropriate tool for adjusting the truss rod; or maybe your dealer will provide. Trust me, you don't want to try to adjust the neck with an ordinary allen wrench: an "expert" repairman ruined my truss rod socket trying to do just that.

Hey thanks for the information. I 've heard about these "expert" people before. But thanks to people like you forewarning me I 've avoided accidental exposure. Why do people over state their skill levels? Idiots!!!!!!!
