Hey folks...I'm a Elixir nanoweb user and was wondering abou the new DR extra life coated strings. I play an OM1 and do a fair amount of alternate tuning work. I've read in a forum post the DR's might be a bit more resistant to breaking. Your thoughts or experiences? Thanks

static,
I used them for a while. Loved the sound, but had a bit of buzzing on the G. Rather than tweek the truss rod, I went back to my favs, Elixir light gauge with original coating. No buzz. I did like the Red, Black, and Green color of the DRs. I mixed the Red and Green at Xmas and it was a real conversation piece. Check this link for my OM with red strings.

And to add, regarding alt tunings; I think the reason for my buzz was that the DR lights have lower tension than the Elixir lights (same gauges). This could be a problem with lowered alt tunings. Maybe medium would be a better choice in the DR.
