I am not real good with setups etc. so I would like to ask the forum for feedback.
I just re-strung my OM with Newtone pb's I read that they have a lower tension to pitch. I can feel the slight difference. My question is could I need a truss rod adjustment because of the lower tension? The only other difference is the low E string is .052 on the Newtones compared to .053 on D'Addario pb lights. Any info is appreciated. Thanks, Tom |

My OM didn't move a bit when I went from mediums for lights. I expected I might have to adjust the truss rod, but it stayed where it was. Great Collings necks!

quote: Thanks. I am thinking it may be a humidity thing. It is very dry right now. I am using a PW soundhole humidifier and keeping the case closed but I am not sure it is enough. My luthier has it to tweak if necessary. Tom |

It's very dry here now in the Denver area. I keep a whole house humidifier in my music room and keep the guitars in there most of the time, out of their cases hanging on the walls. The truss rod is there if you need it, but with the steel bars as well as the truss rod, Collings necks are very stiff.
