Anyone tried it? How does it rate compared to other iterations of the K & K line?

I've never tried the Quantum...I recently bought the K & K Progression Tube preamp. Dieter of K & K said that it sounded as good or better than the Quantum system (which blends 2 sources...usually a pure western mini and an internally mounted mini-mic). The Progression is single source only.
To my ears he was right. I have a K & K pure western mini that goes right to the Progression, then to the house/mixing board and it's the bomb! Amazing acoustic tone with no feedback issues. The unit is expensive, but you actually save money because you don't have to buy the mic and/or have it installed. And it’s a lot less of a set-up hassle. So simple to use...you only have to worry about the one p/u...it's set it up and go! You get the usual great mids and lows that you get with the K & K PLUS a really musical high- end sparkle. I've tried most every system and p/u, mic, dual source combo (and different preamps) imaginable including high end internally mounted mini mics combined with various p/u's.... The K & K pre-amped and eq'ed thru the Progression Tube PA is the best thing I've ever come across in terms of usable acoustic amplification, tone and ease of use. Now if you absolutely need to blend 2 sources, then the Progression is not going to do the job. But I really highly recommend it if you want to stick to the one K & K p/u in your guitar. For blending 2 sources I found the Raven Labs PMB-II to be the best for that purpose at a reasonable price-point. But it’s no longer available at least new. But the Quantum is built and set up to work perfectly with the K & K p/u. Just some thoughts... btw- I have no affiliation with K & K Best, dave This message has been edited.
