How would I accomplish the following:
There's a couple of artists on YouTube that I'd like to capture the audio so I can listen to it on my iPod via iTunes. Any suggestions? How about copying the video? Lefty ------------------------------ "Nobody calls me Lebowski. You got the wrong guy. I'm the Dude, man." |

There is a free program called Audacity that can record speaker audio if you sound card supports it. So you would record the audio as it's playing back on youtube. Once you stop the recording you can save it as a WAV or MP3 which should be able to be put on your Ipod.
I am sure there are other ways, but if it's only a few songs, you may want to try that. Mike |

If you do a Google search for "saving youtube videos" you will find a number of websites that will help you do this. You paste in the url to the youtube video and it will save it as a .flv file on your hard drive. Then you can use a program to convert the .flv to a file format you can use on your player. I use Cinemaforge, which is a totally free program. I usually convert the .flv files to Quicktime so I can play them on my iPod.

zamzar.com works like a charm. It's free up to 100MB/day.
You paste the url, select from the drop down what you wish to convert to (iPod), then they send you an email link to download it once it converts. A piece of cake. |
