I have used K&K Pure Western minis in a D1A and OM1A and they sounded great. But I wonder if the smaller 01A needs a different pick-up? I'd love to put the pure western mini in it. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I think the K & K Pure Western Mini would work great in a smaller bodied guitar like an 01A.

Why not?

Good luck.

I think the mini would work really well with the 01A. If you were happy with it on the other two guiatars you mentioned, then that's a plus.

Though I've heard nothing but good things about the Pure Western Mini, I understand that it requires "permanent" installation with super glue. What if you change your mind down the road? Does anyone know just how permanent this installation is?

I have heard (not seen) that if at some point you want to remove it, it's not hard and it does not take a chunk of the wood like one would think. I know there are Forumites who have used the K&K's so maybe they'll chime in unless of course they like them so much, they never really removed one before. Big Grin

I just installed a K&K Trinity (Western mini plus mic) in my CJ...and one reason I chose it (beyond nothing but great recommendations) was it's reversable if I decided to remove it. You will destroy the pickup if you remove it, but you won't damage the guitar. BTW, it sounds GREAT (and I'm a picky ex-recording engineer).

The only other pickup I like as much as K&K (audibly) is the Highlander, and that IS NOT reversable, and requires routing out the bridge's saddle slot.

No thanks...
