i just put a set of these on my tele. I like them, they do have a wound 3rd it does make string bending a bit different.
http://www.daddario.com/DADProdDetail.aspx?CodaID=553&ID=1&Class=AADA The City Limits Jazz comes with 12's - I called Alex and he said it would be fine to try flatwounds so i have a set of these that I'll use as my next set just to see how I like them. Too heavy for my taste on my I-35 but it all depends i suppose on your style and what you want to accomplish tone and feel wise. http://www.daddario.com/DADProdDetail.aspx?CodaID=556&ID=1&Class=AADA are you enjoying your 35? What do you like to play? All the best, dale |

Hi Maplebaby.....I'm actually just coming into the electric side from acoustic playing. So am just getting used to the electric style. As starters, I'm doing some jazz chording (which is why I was interested in those flatwounds) and leads, funk, and one of my favorites John Lee Hooker rhythms....I do have another electric with 10's on it, and 11's presently on the I-35 which are less heavy than the 12's on my acoustic. This I-35 is the most comfortable and sweetest electric I have ever played.
