I just purchased some flat wounds for my City Limits Jazz - I hope get them on soon. Be glad to give you feedback if interested. What guage & brand would you consider for the 35?

i just put a set of these on my tele. I like them, they do have a wound 3rd it does make string bending a bit different.

The City Limits Jazz comes with 12's - I called Alex and he said it would be fine to try flatwounds so i have a set of these that I'll use as my next set just to see how I like them. Too heavy for my taste on my I-35 but it all depends i suppose on your style and what you want to accomplish tone and feel wise.

are you enjoying your 35? What do you like to play?

All the best,
dale

Hi Maplebaby.....I'm actually just coming into the electric side from acoustic playing. So am just getting used to the electric style. As starters, I'm doing some jazz chording (which is why I was interested in those flatwounds) and leads, funk, and one of my favorites John Lee Hooker rhythms....I do have another electric with 10's on it, and 11's presently on the I-35 which are less heavy than the 12's on my acoustic. This I-35 is the most comfortable and sweetest electric I have ever played.
