Hi folks,

Does anyone know if Collings offers the 1 3/4" nut width option with the 2 3/16" string spacing on any of their electrics?

I have a D1A acoustic with those specs and it sure would be nice to have an electric that I could go to that would require no adjustment in my fretting hand and picking hand.

God bless,
"louisiana" Smile

Don't know about Collings. I do know you can get that spacing on a G&L Legacy. I have 1-11/16" & 2-3/16" on mine. But the 1-3/4" nut is an option. Really nice guitars. Not Collings nice, but nice.

I can't say this is "official", but at NAMM in Austin back in '06 I asked Steve half kidding if they would make me an electric with a 1 3/4 nut.

He said SURE !

That's good news. I need to get one with a 1 3/4 nut. I don't think you can spread the bridge because it's a premade metal piece. You also have the pickup pole pieces to deal with. Frankly, that end isn't that important to me but the nut is.
I think I'll order mine in November.

FWIW, the 1 11/16 neck on the I-35 I briefly owned was the best electric guitar neck I have ever fondled. I play 1 3/4 on acoustic, always, and found no difficulty at all with the Collings neck, at least on the long lamented 35. Just a fabulous guitar. end of rant. tom
