I just got a 290 and have barely slept it is so amazing! I used to play electric, Strat, Les Paul, but had been solely acoustic for the past 15 years. I am blown away by everything about this guitar. Just moving along the fretboard is a transcendental experience! It is sooo cool looking, happy to post a pic if anyone is interested.
I'm playing it through a Maz 18 Jr. NR and can get an amazing array of great tones. As I've been out of the electic world for quite awhile I'm wondering if this instrument is as unique as it seems to be? I've got an I-35 on order.

Congratulations on your 290.I too have a TV yellow 290 but mine has a pealoid pickguard and truss rod cover.

I understand your excitement over this guitar. I used mine this morning in church through a Dr Z Maz 18 Jr just like you and it sounded amazing. I was using both clean and distorted sounds. Our church band jammed some blues in A after church and my bass player commented on how good my tone was and this guy is pretty jaded.

Papple just got a TV yellow 290 also and you will find some comments about both of our guitars under the CL Deluxe thread.

Enjoy your guitar!!

I have been out of the electric scene for awhile, mostly flat picking acoustic and Mandolin. So the world of amps has changed dramatically, my last was a fender reverb circa 1980. This Maz 18 jr. NR is unbelievable but I imagine there are many sweet amps out there for the price. What are other folks playing with their 290s??

I don't have a 290 so I can't say exactly how it would sound with certin amps. I do however play a fair amount of electric and think a lot of two amps that are great for home and outside the home gigs. My two favorites are are the Badcat Cub 15R and the Savage Macht 12. I own both this amps they sound incredible with any type of pickup I have used.

If you like the TV Yellow with pearloid appointments, the 12th fret in Toronto, Canada has one exactly like it.

Outstanding service - I just bought a crimson 290 there.

Check the What's New Section of the site.
