Collings already builds an electric guitar.
Just put your fishman under the saddle and
your off. If you want a jazz or rock box
just take the archtop add a neck floating pickup
and you're off and running. They can't build the
ones they already do quick enough to supply the
demand for them so I am sure they would not build one. Beside Crowdster and Taylor and Gibson already fill the need for those pretty
well. Someone used ghastly to describe the T5
I don't think I'd agree with that one. A lot of
potential in the TF, I would prefer a differnt
sound system but the concept is solid.IMO

I would indeed use "ghastly" to descibe the T5 I played. At least in my hands. It seems like it's trying to be 2 things, so it is neither.

Electric guitars ? I remember as a kid wondering acoustic guitar hmm well what was the point sure nice to get
the girls with a folky ditty butt Les Pauls , Strats , 100 watt Marshall now that was status ,power
control of the world , in my late thirties when I started to pick regularly again ( gave up the golfball )
I began to appreciate the guitar just for me , and that is the pure reason for playing ,for me anyway if a
departure to electrics make orders take more time for the acoustic works of art from Collings, all the better
my selfish side does not want everyone to have one , I like going to a music function and pulling out my D-1A
and have people say oh I've heard of those, never seen one tho sure is pretty, man thats sounds great,
I go to some jams and there will be 25 or more Martin D models of one kind or another Ive never seen more than
3 Collings I think that may be a bit snobby on my part butt I like having the best , I get the same reaction
from my Elliot capo
any way my selfish two cents
Fred
Oh I do believe they would be first class tho

Surely what makes a great acoustic guitar is also the same for an electric, great tonewoods, great build and great design. I would love to see a 335 type guitar from Collings maybe a blonde maple one with tortoise bindings, I would buy one."

Well it came true! I would love to buy one, just wondering what they will list for?
