Hi. Previously, I ordered a Collings CL standard from Mass Street Music. Because the folks at Mass Street were trying to offer me the most oustanding service they could, they accidently put a very small dent in the guitar when they were setting it up for me.
Now they are doing everything they can to make it right. They have ordered another one for me from Collings at no charge to me.
The folks at Mass Street Music will do everything they can to help you.
I've seen black ones and they look fine. However, Collings are using such good quality woods that I kind of think it's a shame to cover up the wood. Sunburst may be a better way to go if you want to see some nicely figured woods.

Kim (Cotten Music) just picked up a mint 'burst I-35 Deluxe, and I think Kevin (Hill Country) got a new crimson one in. I agree that seeing the wood is important, and you definitely can on these 35s. Gorgeous ... makes me wish I had an excuse to play more electric guitar.
