Interested to know whether adding the Stetsbar has affected the tone of your 290 at all. I tried a Stetsbar on a Les Paul Standard and, to my ears, I lost some sustain. To me, it was noticeable enough for me to take the Stetsbar off again.

I haven't noticed any loss of sustain or impact on tone. I will be gigging with it on Friday, so that will be the big test. But so far, I'm loving it. The improvements in the Pro II make it more stable and in tune on bends (or string breaks) and more adjustable.

Is that a high tech Bigsby? I owned a mint mid sixties Gretsch Country Gentleman, a close cousin of the George guitar, and I sold it on the cheap because it would not- NOT- stay in tune if you bent strings at all, which I do constantly. If this innovation is as true to pitch as a stop tail piece, I might have to reconsider. I'd love to have the whammy bar option with real, reliable tuning stability. thanks tom

WAY better than a Bigsby. Full step down, half step up, in tune while "tremming" and after. Double stops and string bends=YEAH! SO far, its very stable...and I'm very happy. Big Grin

GIG REPORT

I played the 290 last night @ Momo's in Austin. Hard bends, lots of trem bar (up & down) and even some straight ahead playing. This Stetsbar is killer!! Stable and no worse on tuning than the Tone Pros. Great sustain.

It's staying on....
