A City Limits Deluxe for $2,999, with OHSC.
PLEASE, someone buy this so that I can stop trying to rationalize having TWO CLDs.

I spoke with the store manager. It was taken in on trade (GC is not a Collings dealer.) Two or three very minor surface flaws, normal wear and tear, IIRC.

Wow, that's an incredible deal, and GC's used gear is typically pretty overpriced. Not that one.

I'm relatively close to that store but I can't drive over there to see it 'cause I'd probably just end up bringing it home and that wouldn't be good.

Yep, that price is way under what I paid for my CLD. It's a good thing I just pulled the trigger on a Soco Deluxe. I really can't afford another CLD. Smile

Ain't she pretty! Kevin and Jeff did me right as a repeat customer.

I've never played an electric guitar in my life, but these guitars are so beautiful and you guys make them sound so great, I actually sometimes find myself thinking, "Hmmmm, maybe....." Jeezum!

I wish I knew. I'm in Tokyo on business trip. The Soco is en route to my residence Stateside. I'll have Christmas in April when I get home.

B & Eric,
Please do yourselves a favor and plug into a small amp and play some Rock & Roll. This is similar advice I'd give to a 40-year-old virgin who was in danger of never experiencing certain Earthly pleasures. Sorry to be so crass at 6:30 on a Sunday Morning.

I played that CLD at GC. It has not been well cared for, as you would expect at GC. It is not beat up, but it is greasy from being over-handled. He told you the truth about the dings, there's a few but nothing ugly. Despite all that, it does deliver the CLD sound. It sounds really good. I offered them about what they're asking now and the kid salesman literally snickered at me...now look at them! I was like whatever kid, I've been around for a while- if you're lucky you'll have my wisdom one day.

It's the lowest price I've ever seen on a CLD. A little isopropyl and the grease is gone. Had I not written the big check for the Soco, I would really be tempted just to have s second CLD strung with different strings. IMO, the CLD sound is like no other... in a good way, a very good way.
