A Strat, or even a Tele, is a more versatile guitar. I like the sound of a PRS, too, but as you said it's very Les Paul like. My primary electric axe is a Strat, and if Anderson has improved substantially over that tone I'd be willing to take a test drive. I know Make'n Music and it's not too far from where I work. I'm sure I'll be over there at some point and when I am I'll ask about these guitars. And I don't think the price is too outrageous, as long as it performs.

If you're a strat/tele guy, then try the 3 pickup models with the 2 front singles and the bridge humbucker. It gets pretty good Fender type sounds, which is what I want most of the time.

When I played it in the store I liked it enough to buy it, but I didn't really start to appreciate how good it was until I played it at home for a while. I needed to jam along with some backup tracks. Then I could really feel and hear a difference. Give them a try. You might get lucky and not like them. Smile

Tomcat, I've been to the Dark Side many times but all it dominates is my density, which tends to run high.

I have a quick sample mp3. I The playing is full of mistakes, nut it was a quick one time through trying to add descriptions and change pickups and amp setting on the fly. It's all through a PodPro. The first stuff is the Pod's "Black Face", a simulation of a black face Fender Twin. The last bit at the end is the "Small Tweed", a sim of a '52 Fender Deluxe. I have the volume cranked all the way up (to 11).

Please forgive the turds in the playing, but this is a live first take. No chance to figure out what to play, just play, and no fixing mistakes. Yikes! It's almost like you have to really play or something. :-)

It's too long, but I was just jamming and I didn't edit anything. The file is about 4MB.

I recorded a couple demos of just the guitar. These let you hear the guitar a bit better.
