Interesting 000 with a solid headstock. Seller says it's 1 13/16". Does the standard 1 3/4 "V" of the OM neck differ from the profile of the standard 12 fret slothead neck profile? Nice guitar, especially with the cutaway to alleviate the deal-breaker of the limited reach on a 12 fret neck.

Yes, the profile is different. It's more old school Louisville Slugger. I owned a DS42 with that neck- although not with a solid headstock, which I'd find an advantage when string changing times come around. To my hand, which readily accepts every other profile and nut width Collings makes without complaint, it seemed chubby. Unfortunately, in my later years, I've come to know chubby. Way too well. This being an election year, I'd ask for a recount on that nut width. Odd to go solid headstock and leave the width there. Could happen though. tom

I know 1 13/16 nut width. I've owned 1 13/16 nut width. That, sir, is not a 1 13/16 nut width....even at this distant remove. 1 3/4 I'd say.

That was my thought as well; must be an OM neck all the way around, or down, as it were.
...and swell reference on this Convention evening. #6186 2000 OM-3HG # 924 1994 C-10 black Dlx custom w/cutaway |

I'm trying to limit my convention references. They'd be too unconventional for the clientele. At 1 3/4, that would be one schweeeeet guitar, and superb for performing. I do miss me some cutaway, but somethings had to go to fund the CJ varnish, now ten months in incubation. tom

that's an insanely good deal for a fingerstyle player, even at the buy it now price. it's practically new with a big discount.

i would say 1-3/4" nut width also. i have never seen a solid headstock with the wider neck. as sonoman says, a great idea when changing strings. my 000-2H has the 1-13/16" width, which i like, and the v-neck is a very subtle "v"... almost unnoticeable. it's very comfortable. i do miss those extra frets up the neck, however. a wide neck with a solid headstock and 14 frets clear would be ideal for me.

That is the twin to my guitar (for the most part). I have a solid headstock with the wider nut. Although I do not have a pick guard.
Music Emporium orders them that way some times. Yes, that is quite the price. Mine was $4750 - when did I buy it? 2006? It's even in slightly better shape than mine. I'm very gentle but they get played. He must be movitated to sell. If that was a mahogany I'd be tempted to buy a sibling. course a burst on a 0001C is nice. The cutaway on a 000 is awesome. I play right up to the 16th. And Collings has such good intonation and sustain up the neck to boot. It works out well.
