Thanks Larry - great to know that she's a good one. That sure is a pretty burst.
What seems a little odd is that I traveled from Phoenix to Dallas last November, and had some time between appointments, so I went to Charleys for the first and only time there ever. I think I remember this guitar when I was there!
That would be about the time I was there. The OM1 was best-in-show that day at Charley's. It beat out an OM2HA-sb and a Bourgeois Country Boy with the most incredible quilted mahogany back that I ever saw. I don't know where Dana finds such great looking wood.
But Sound always beats Looks (and forum opinion) when I test drive one. You have both.
Enjoy.

It's official, I am now an official Collings owner! This little beauty arrived today and I absolutely love it.
WOW! I really did not know what to expect, but whatever that was, it has exceeded my expectations in all regards. Looks great, plays great, sounds great. I don't know what it is I am hearing different or I don't have the words to describe it - but something here is really different - it just sounds so good, so pleasing, even with my meager playing ability. It is so versatile too. Did I mention that I like it yet?
LCGEEK, welcome to the club! It's kinda like what the Supreme Court Justice said about pornography; difficult to define, but he knew it when he saw it
Whatever it is about the Collings OMs that make them so appealling, particularly with the Mahogany back and sides, you know it when you hear it. Enjoy that git, but try not to stare at that burst for hours on end. They're meant to be played for sure.
