Will a C10 case fit in the overhead baggage rack in a plane?

If they are the same size as an OM or Gibson Nick Lucas case they will fit in a 747 & Airbus A3xx series locker, you could also try asking the cabin crew to put it in the 'upright locker'(they will know the one you mean) on 737's,767's etc , some of the airlines over here will still let you take guitars as 'carry-on' especially if you are polite.Though I've heard a few horror stories about airlines in The States.
