Looks like I'll be picking up a new, old Collings OM3 tomorrow and I'd value some input from you all. My guitar teacher has an OM3 that he bought new some time ago and has now found that his musical needs have changed so he's selling it. probably to me. The serial number on the guitar is 876 but there doesn't appear to be any date on the label. Does this sound right? Based on what I can find it may have been made in the early 90'sb ut I really don't have much to base this on. I'm looking forward to joining you guys in Collings Stewardship. I have a few guitars laying around and find that I like the OM/000 size the best. I have an HOM35 Martin from 1989 and a 00040Q2GN Martin that is quilted mahogany. Also a Goodall Rosewood Concert Jumbo thats the OM size. I'm thinking the Collings OM3 should be just what I like. In any case. I thank you all for any input you can give me. Paul

You should like it just fine...lol. I have a '97 OM3 w/ a cutaway, & it's the loudest, punchiest acoustic I have (out of 4). Myself, I love the subtle classiness of level 3 Collings guitars. It was also my 1st Collings & what sold me on it besides it's crystalline clarity, is the neck shape...it's perfect!

93 is right. Collings dated their guitars until 2002, and if a date is not present on the label, it's a rare mistake. Undoubtedly a killer guitar, date or no date. 15 years is a lot of opening; it's about as open as it'll ever get. Jump on it. You'll be glad you did.
The deal has been done and I have my first Collings guitar. Sounds pretty good. The only complaint I have is that, for a 15 year old guitar, there's not much mojo. Just a few little rub marks. You'd think it's never seen the inside of a saloon. i think i can help with that issue.
