I have been a bit delinquent in posting pics but will try to make it up tomorrow. About 2 months ago I purchased a CWIA and now just yesterday I picked up a used Froggy Bottom M. Both from Madison Music. I went down to check out the new R. Taylor guitar they had in just to see what it was all about. I was playing around with a bunch of different small body models and Pete said you have to try this. He pulled out a used Froggy they had taken in on trade, I played it, talked to my wife, and purchased it. Wonderful guitar. Didn't think I would be interested in anything other than a Collings or maybe a Huss & Dalton, but this guitar made me change my mind.
Curious as to how many of you have Froggy's and what strings you like on them? Not sure what is on this one right now but it feels like Elixers. I will try to get pics of both up soon and give a report of each guitar. Nate This message has been edited. Last edited by: NDS, |

Hey NSD - I spoke with Pete about the Froggy on Friday - Told him I'd think about it over the week end and when I called back he said it was sold
You picked up a gem - They are great folks at Madason - please keep me on the top of your list when it's time to recycle her Contrats ------------------------------------------------------------------- Collings OM1AC ~ Colling 01SB ~ Goodall PR-14 Parlor ~ Goodall PKA-14 Parlor ~ Gooodall AKGCC ~ Gibson ES140 ~ G & L Strat _______________________________________________ Buy Used & Buy Often |

Been playing the Froggy all day and love it. The body size is so comfortable and it sounds great. Sorry Mr. Slipz but I will be doing everything I can not to recycle this one. These two guitars will keep me playing instead of searching. I think I may have the two perfect guitars for me. We all know how great Collings is and the OM1A was on my to get list but once this Froggy was put into my hands I felt it was the perfect compliment to the CWIA. Anyhow, enjoy the pics.

Congratulations! Lovely guitars! The Adirondack/Mahogany looks great on that Froggy! I love dramatic looking Adirondacks and love those straight grains and dark EI Rosewood on the CW! Almost identical to the back of my OM2HAV!

I agree. I have found I am truely an adi fan. Not because of the hype but because I love the sound and the looks. The Froggy has some character to it which I like. The EI Rosewood on our guitars make them look like they are related. Great woods. Isn't it wonderful to have intruments that look and sound great!!! Not to mention the fact that my wife is on board with owning fine guitars. Nate |

Hey Ed,
Saw the picture of your great looking Merrill OM-18. How does it compare to the Collings OM-1A and OM-2HAV in sound and workmanship? |

Hey, Nate-Great looking guitars. Oddly enough, I had my guitar custom built last year by Bryan Shaw who lives in Vermont, very near the Froggy shop. He got lots of tips from Michael Millard at Froggy. I'm posting a pic of mine and you'll see it looks very similar to your M. It has an Adi top and mahogany back and sides. I, too, love the body style and sound.

Hey NDS,
That looks like the Froggy M Mahogany standard I traded in on my Collings O1asb. That’s the second M I’ve owned. I had an early rosewood cutaway. For some reason although I like the Froggy’s for me they just don’t have staying power. I’m glad it’s gone to a good home. I love the o1asb and I’ll try to post some pictures this weekend. Kilgore Kid, very nice looking guitar there and you are right it looks very much like the Froggy. If sounds as good as it looks you certianly have a real winner there.
LaVonne, This probably was yours then cause Pete said it was traded in on an o1asb. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to own a great guitar, I will provide it a great home. What kind of strings did you like on the Froggy? Nate |

Thanks, Nate. She does sound great! I'd recommend you try a set of GHS Infinity Bronze lights (12-54). I use them on the Shaw and on my OM2HSB. Nice sounding strings.

Nate,
I'm pretty sure I had GHS bright Bronze lights on it. I’ve also used JP 80/20 lights. Both sounded pretty good to me. Play the heck out of it and enjoy.
