Just picked up my first CJ today from Herb Trottman@Fretted Instruments, Birmingham,AL. Super guitar Mr. Trottman has ordered this combination and tagged it the Big Herb!! The "little herb" is a C-10 with the same description... I took his word on the C-10 and it was and is a great guitar, but this CJ has so much dynamic range, WOW it going to be a long evening. I know a lot of folks have posted rave reviews on their CJ stock. Thanks Guys for the help with the best forum I've found. Great info, and some great guitars.

Phil,

Just recently visited Herb and his little and big, loved em both. Your Big Herb was spectacular, the Li'l Herb was magnificent. I am a small body guy, so pardon my preference...
Glad to hear there is another acoustic voice out there...

Sorry, Tom; when Steve McCreary called me this week to talk about your/my OM-1A varnish, I planned to tell him that we all are waiting for your guitar, but then I didn't want to take too much of his time because I figured he's a busy guy... Heck, he shouldn't even have called me with the info he had, but that fact that he did is amazing and yet another thing I love about Collings.

Yes SONOMAN, got the varnish and a few more goodies!! I had a special order in but alas the wait was to long and the weight of cost was more than I could bare. I'll try to post the Herbs' this evening. Thanks Phil
