Very nice job, clean and lyrical. Thanks.

And the guitar! Is it possible for a guitar to sound any better than that? Cheers!

There's the answer to anyone's question about a CJ being suited for fingerstyle. Schweeet! I use my CJA for all manner of music. Looks to be open G, which would make sense for one of Dwayne's tunes. Maybe as good a slide player as ever drew breath. Great job.

Ageed, you've given me a new appreciation for using a CJ for fingerstyle. That's all I play and I haven't even looked in the direction of a CJ. Great playing. A slight woodiness to the tone was well received by these ears.

What is the wood combo by the way.

Stuart

Stuart, E. Indian Rosewood Back & Sides w/ Spruce top. It's about 9 years old and seems to sound better every year. You should try one out if you get the chance -- just a really, really great all-around guitar.

Sonoman, Actually, it's an open D tuning with a capo at the 2nd fret, making it open E. I use the capo to avoid tuning the guitar to open E which feels like it might put too much tension on the neck.

Sounds good Dave, very close to what the CJ I had sounded like. Nice playing. I have only heard Kottke's take on the tune. Is your version more like Allman's?

Yeah, more like the version on Eat A Peach which is actually two guitars -- Duane Allman and Dickey Betts together. I did whatever I could to try to make one guitar sound like their duet version.

great job - I appreciate the expression you put into your playing. Your guitar does sound great - what guage and brand of string are you using in the video and is that your 1st preference? Great playing - look forward to more video posts!
