My duo partner, Brian Stear, and I have recorded some tunes for our new demo. This is one of my favoirtes. It's an instrumental arrangement of Gregg Allman's "Come n Go Blues." I'm playing my Gibson J-100 XT Maple, the poor-mans J-200 Smile. Brian is playing harmonica. I love jammin' with this guy!

Come n Go Blues
(MP3 - 6 meg)

Hope you like it. Comments welcome...

I'll comment - I loved it! Just great stuff - a tune that takes me back a day or two! Haven't heard it in awhile and your version is just great. I've always like Pony Boy as well. Love to hear you work that up! Great stuff, thanks.

Dave,

I really enjoyed hearing this rendition. Nice chops on both of your parts. I have some questions to Brian, maybe ask him for me... does he modify his harps at all? I know they sell an "easy bend" harmonica but most pros do extensive modifications to their harps, something I'd like to try one day myself.

Thanks for the nice comments, guys.

Maplebaby: Pony Boy, eh? I'll have to give that a listen. Brian plays guitar, too, and we've been toying with the idea of doing "Jessica" Smile

Kenny: I know that he occasionally tunes them (which I didn't even know you could do), but I don't think he 'modifies' them other than that.

Sounds excellent! Nice playing from both of you. I especially like how you're getting the guitar to really sound like a rhythm section, like I can sort of hear the bass and drums in your playing -- in a duo that's a great skill.
