Wow.Mind sharing what tuning you were in? Makes my glad my koa/sitka '99 is coming back home. Pity it doesn't come with your fingers- but you need them youself, don't you? thanks tom
hey Tom, thanks for the nice words and for taking your time to watch and comment. I love your koa guitar -I've looked at it several times in admiration while it has had its home in music city. It is a nice one and the koa is beautiful. I love koa guitars so much they way they sound and look. Please let me know when yours gets back in your hands. The tunning is a bit strange on this piece - EADEAE.
I'm sure I'd like to have some of your fingers memory as well! Thanks again, dale.
Hey, I just wanted to say I love your playing. It's very inspiring. Every time I watch one of your videos I just want to leave work and go home and play my Collings CJ (EIR/Sitka).
Are most of those songs your arrangements, or did you learn them by ear or do you have book recommendations?
EricaATUNC - thanks for the very nice words. I'm glad to see you have a CJ - they are such great guitars. I think they can do anything you need. I love to flatpick and fingerpick with mine.
How long have you had yours? Do you play fingers or pick or both?
Many of the songs posted are other people's tunes or arrangements I really liked and wanted to learn. Some by tab, some by ear. Some the more traditional or 'standards' are my arrangements. I wish I had more time to work out arrangements of tunes I enjoy - it isn't a speedy process for me and life often gets in the way.
Again I appreciate you taking your time to watch and your words are very encouraging. Keep that CJ busy! dale.
I've had my CJ for about 6 months. I love it, what a great sounding guitar. I flatpick and fingerpick, and actually just started the fingerstyle. I study under Howard Morgen, so I'm working through his arragements from his books...Just Friends, Sweet Gingerbread Man, Five Foot Two, Christmas Time is Here, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, etc. They are more along the jazzy line I guess.
I've done a few arrangements but nothing to write home about, it is a lengthy process for me as well.

Tom, you can have the guitar. I'll take the fingers and make do with my existing stable. I'd probably even be willing to sell off 3 or 4 if I had those fingers.
love the way this one starts out... you really hit some nice riffs and tones here. thanks a bunch for inspirational music... makes me want to record some of my own material.
