Hi all,

I originally posted this clip over on the APM forum.
It was recorded on my Collings OM1A and someone suggested posting
it over here as well.

I've been a lurker on this forum on and off for years.
Aside from owning a number of custom built guitars
over the years I've always been a big fan of Collings.
I currently have an OM1A and a deep body C-10 that is
en route to me as I type. I'm very excited about the potential
of the Deep C10 and will post a review when it arrives.

One of my favorite cd's the last few months has been Paul Asbell's "Roots & Branches".

The opening tune "Chunky Monkey Gumbo" is just one of those happy and fun tunes that I couldn't stop humming and picking on everytime I picked up my guitar.

A few weeks ago I started in earnest trying to learn the song and with Paul's help clearing up a few of the chord forms on the turnarounds I think I've finally strung all the pieces together (or all the Chunky Monkey's as the case may be

Flawless playing. I am totally impressed. CMG is something I will have to learn to play. It has a few lines that sound like an old Chet tune (that I can't remember the title of) and has a great sort-of ragtime feel to it. I'm gonna have to check out that cd. Good job Michael. Thanks for sharing that video. I'm sure it will inspire all of us to even get better.

That is just incredible how you can go up and down the fretboard like this so effortlessly. It was a real treat to watch you play. Anytime you have more like this, I would never turn down an opportunity to watch and hear you play like this!
