redavide: First, just angelic playing and tone.... wow. Next: is that standard tuning? And how is this recorded? thanks. My band did a sloppy version of this song (Cmaj7 to start with), but not even in the same universe as what you're doing with it. But I do have a CJ, so that's a start. Please share your wisdom, sire. thanks tom
Sonoman, tuning is standard with the low E tuned down to C, in this case capo at the 4th fret. I recorded in mono with an Audio Technica 4050CM5 condenser mic through a old Sony Digital 8 camera (digital tape). There's no compression, no EQ, no mixing, no anything except for a bit of reverb on the recorded signal (ie: wasn't added).
It's archaic, but it's still good enough for Youtube.
If you need the sheet music for this arrangement, send me a PM and I'll send it to you.
Yep, if Audrey as Holly Golightly doesn't inspire you, time for the autopsy. If, by sheet music, you mean standard notation, I'm afraid I only read that on the clarinet. A long, long time ago. Otherwise, it's tab or charts. I used to fiddle around in open C, so let me drop that bottom string two steps and see what happens. If you have tab, I'm a ready teddy. thanks tom
Redavide, beautiful playing, really enjoyed it. If you wouldn't mind sending me sheet music, I'd really appreciate it. I'll send you my e-mail address. Thanks very much and, again, great playing.
You can also download an "authorized" version of the transcript from www.musicnotes.com for a fee, which is where I got mine (don't ask me how much, or if, they pay Ed Gerhard).
In any case, playing Gerhard's arrangement, sharing a few copies of the transcript for completely non-commercial (is "educational" going too far?) purposes so a few more people will play it, so a few more will hear, it and so on and so forth, hopefully will have a supportive effect on the authors.
