In defense of Mikey (I'm hedging my bets as this guy could be Michael Corleone)I can see where he's coming from. Not a Kowsznofski. However, Mikey doesn't realize that many of the seemingly superior comments or those of a mean nature are just tongue-in-cheek and are not meant to offend.

Dear old Oscar Wilde once said "I drink to make other people interesting", so too I suspect that some flippant comments made here are meant to just add spice and make the thread a little more piquant.

Sonoman, if the fortitude of your platitudes on the rectitude of lattitudes and lassitude could only lower the price of crude, you'd put us in a better mood, dude.

You started this with an insulting post to a moderator that you barely know because why?
Because you have spent some time reading a bit? Did you not notice the graciousness in his response to you, he welcomed you!!!
This is our Moderator. Please respect him.

In this very thread you have proposed starting a poll to kick someone out.
There seems to be people on this forum who are negative and feel they are superior to others.
I maybe newly registerd but I have spent enough time on this forum to get an understanding of what it is really all about.

It's a PRIVATE forum (meaning you ain't entitled to it) and it doesn't cost you a nickle. If you don't like it, don't hang around. However, if you are going to hang around, I suggest you try to be a bit more constructive.

In the just shoot me now thread you suggest that someone must have been bribed to grade the brazilian AAA and out it on the label. So in your opinion Bruce is dishonest and therefore so is Collings. Maybe you should grade the wood and do the tap tones.

You became personally involved in a private sale by trying to get the seller to give up the buyer. You offered to put him in touch with people in the legal feild who could help him. You did all these things without ever hearing from the buyer, it never occurred to you that the seller might have been in the wrong or had a personal agenda. You and others assumed the buyer was a liar and a theif.
As a moderator you should have diffused the siuation instead of feeding it.
I have read other posts on this forum that trash people simply for asking a question that others feel has already been answered.

Your first posts on the forum deal very closely with the botched sale of that guitar. You're definitely very unhappy about what happened. What else would you like to say? PM me is necessary. If an attorney was necessary, for either side, I would have been happy to make a suggestion. Notice the words "necessary" and "either side." Helpful. Fair. That fiasco is done anyway, unless the buyer would like to state his case...

People are ALLOWED to trash Collings guitars here. It's part of the beauty of this open-minded forum. I've found Collings owners to have pretty thick skin and confidence about their purchases and they don't allow a trasher to get to them. I say, "bring it on!"

The poll was a joke, clearly. Not really an issue.

People are allowed to feel superior. Even negative. Those aren't characteristics that I personally respect, but this is a free forum. Now "condescending" and "disrespectful"... I've already stated, repeatedly, that I take issue with that. Mikey, it's up to you to decide if this is the type of forum that you'd like to be involved in.

Dig in. Hang out. Get involved. We'd welcome your contributions. But I have a concern -- you say that you have us all figured out, but that comes on the tail end of a diatribe about how awful the forum is. A+B=C. You have us figured as an awful place. Mikey, this is utter proof that you have no idea what this place is all about. Not a clue. If you look at the actions which surround a few members, yes, there have been recent difficulties.

If you'd like to hand in your membership, I'd accept. No reason you should feel so uncomfortable. The forum is optional for all of us.

I don't think he took issue with the mere fact that you commented, I think it had more to do with the substance of the comment.

Dude -- for all your Collings forum knowledge, you apparently are unfamiliar with the concept of "Private Messaging" -- where a comment such as the above is better directed.

By the way -- he's the moderator -- he can do whatever he flipping wants.

Good point Guitarhak.

Mikey - click on my name and you'll be able to send me a private message. I'd be happy to discuss this there.
