Whole Foods flag ship store purports to be a grocery store but is, in fact, Food Disneyland! Worth a trip. Located at 6th & Lamar. Across the street in one direction is Waterloo Records, one of the best (if not THE best) independent record/CD shops in the country. Across the street in the other direction is Book People, voted the best independent book store in U.S. There is also Amy's Ice Cream, an REI (outdoor store) and other retail shops all within a half a block of each other. 6th & Lamar--Park at Whole Foods, grab something to eat and investigate the area...something for everybody.

Lonestar, straight from the horse to you. Austin: play music, listen to music, eat great Mexican food, if you're single cut a filly out of the herd and give a private concert. That should cover it. Somehow bats by the capitol don't surprise me; forum decorum prevents me from elaborating. Think belfry and go with it.
