Lots of you know Tim from when he was at Mass Street Music in Lawrence, KS about 7 or 8 years ago. At that time Mass Street sold more Collings' than any dealer in the U.S.
Time has spent some time working at Collings Guitars, Huss and Dalton directing their sales efforts. He has returned to the retail environment and can be found at Guitars, Etc. in Longmont, CO (888 487-7382) I bought my first Collings from Tim. He is an honest guy, low keyed sales guy, and a really good person. He never tried to push a certain guitar on me.....he was always concerned that I was happy with the guitar I bought, and he asked all the right questions to determine I was getting the guitar to meet my expectations. Tim, really knows his guitars, woods and lutherie, and he is the kind of sales paerson you rarely find these days....honest and caring. I wanted everyone to know where Tim is, as he sort of disappeared when he went to work for Collings and Huss and Dalton. Tim actaully told me about this website initially. I have no financial interest in Guitars, ETC......just trying to help out a really good person. Lefty ------------------------------ "Nobody calls me Lebowski. You got the wrong guy. I'm the Dude, man." |

Hey Lefty, as you may remember, I bought my first H&D 00-SP fm Tim during his Mass Street days. He's really a honest, down to earth guys. I hv great times chatting with him about guitars. Will try contact him again there.

After I bought my first H&D, I met Tim via the internet researching the guitar at H&D. Last summer I stopped by the H&D shop hoping to meet Tim (since he had invited me to the shop) and lo and behold he had already flown the coop. I'm glad to see that he ended up finding a nice nest in Longmont.
Tom Two Collings, two Huss & Daltons, a Bourgeois, an H&F, and a bunch of Martins. |

That guy sold a lot of guitars for Mass Street.
I did a few instrument transactions with Tim at Mass Street, and Leo Posch fixed my guitars. And then they were all gone... This message has been edited. Last edited by: D2H2259, |

A late addition to this thread...
I was in the market for my first real guitar in 2006 and liked what I saw online from Huss and Dalton. Being a local shop didn't hurt either. Gearing up for the Galax Fiddlers Convention that year I e-mailed H&D to see about a tour. Tim said to stop by so I popped in about 10:00 am. I expected someone to tell me "There's the wood and over there's the guys workin'. See ya around." Nope. Tim gave a complete stranger an hour-plus tour from the wood storage area to setup and beyond. He stopped at each luthier's bench to explain the particular aspect they were working on at that moment. In short, Tim's the reason that I was happily strumming my H&D TDM Custom (Adi) earlier today. It's an awesome guitar and I proudly own it thanks to a great guy who told me all about it. Tim's new employer should be thrilled to have him. PS: I do have a Collings MT in hand and a D2HA on order lest you think I'm waving the H&D banner too vigorously. |
