Since I couldn't swing the "Buy It Now" Cowboy Collings that flew off eBay last week, maybe the Gretsch would suffice. Do you think I'd notice any difference in Form, Fit and Function, compared to the Collings? Has anyone A/Bed them? Does the Gretsch come in solid Brazilian composition board?
the most important distinction, Randy, is that the Collings lacks the critical UFO element. Gotta have it to be way out west. Wow. But even though, for the first two weeks of September, life handed my ass to me with a crabapple appropriately placed, I still play Collings, and I"m still a Wyoming guy at heart. Gretsch was from, what, Rhode Island? West that ain't. Yee haw. tom
Spacecraft and Cowboys. Slim Pickins riding a rocket comes to mind. Or a rough ride home after a late night at the Cowboy Bar in Laramie! My twelve-year old '67 Camaro felt like a spacecraft.
Lararmie's for lightweights; Centennial, my son, about twenty miles west outa town. Now, THAT's western. Watch out for the odd shaped fries, though; it ain't chicken. Yeah, ol' Slim riding to the conclusion of Dr. Strangelove. Classic. One might say Cheneyesque, but certainly not I. God Bless America. Please.
