I have a 2004 Collings OM-2HG (German top) model in excellent condition save for a some places where a string tuner brushed the headstock and another where a humidifier came in contact with the treble side near the neck. The pickguard also shows some signs of being played. There is some slight fret-wear in the usual places but nothing near that which causes any issues with playability.
Simply stated, the tone is great. Warmer bass than you typically expect from a Collings but still very clear and rich. Trebles and mids are fantastic all over the neck as well. Chords are nice and full and keep there timber very well in the upper registers (it capos wonderfully). Another unique aspect of this OM is how punchy the notes are and it has quite a bit of headroom as well. I rarely find myself overdriving this one with heavy strumming. I realize everyone hears different things in guitars so I'm just trying to give a general idea of what I think this Collings has to offer. If you are interested in knowing more, I'd be happy to try and answer your questions.
Price is $2000.00 plus shipping.

Maybe I should keep my yap shut in case there's a sale pending, but when I saw that guitar I thought for sure that the price was a misprint. My jaw is on the floor.
My guitar stable is completely full, and I just bought an OM2H, but the thought crossed my mind to buy this just for it's value.

FWIW, people talk about Collings and Adi all the time. But where spruce is concerned, I've strongly preferred the German-topped guitars out of Austin to the other varieties.
Somebody is going to get an incredible deal here on a guitar that is sure to be tremendous.
