I'm selling my '95 Collings D2h that I've now owned twice. It's the only guitar that I've ever bought back.

It's dated 1-95 and is a "player", as Kim Sherman calls some guitars in her shop. That means it's not mint or pristine, but has been PLAYED and has the marks and wear to show it. The ivoroid binding is slowly turning yellow. There are minor dings and scratches in many places. The finish is worn off where your thumb rests in first position.

Full disclosure: There is a scratch in the lower right bout (facing the guitar) from a case latch. There were dings in the upper right bout as well. I had Jim Grainger do finish work on both areas. You can still SEE the scratch but it's filled with lacquer (so it won't discolor from your arm). There is a slight discoloration in the upper bout that shows when you turn the guitar a certain way. I've tried to show both in this picture...

Specs: This guitar has a 1-3/4" nut (special order), nickel Waverly tuners, bone nut and black buffalo horn compensated saddle. It's serial #1530, which is cool all by itself. I think Collings is over 12,000 now and counting.

My take: This is one of my favorite guitars that I've owned (30+ and counting). It's LIVELY - super responsive to the lightest touch. Y'all know how I feel about my two Posch guitars, and that hasn't changed. I could sell them and live with this guitar as my only guitar - I like it that well. I'm forced to sell it to help pay for a new vehicle for my wife (her buggy died last week). This guitar feels as comfortable as an old shoe to me, for several reasons. One is I don't worry about dinging it - ha! More than that is the action is relaxed and not as stiff as it is with new or minty (read, seldom played) guitars. I'm gonna miss this one... and ask for first dibs on buying it back if you ever sell it.

My loss = your gain.

Price: $2,450 including ground shipping to CONUS and Collings Geib-style case.

I have plenty of references available. Let me know if you have any questions.
