It's a long story, but I now find myself with two professional-quality Collings varnish mandolins and my skill level does not begin to justify either, let alone both.

I'd consider selling one of the two, and am relatively open-minded about which one. The MF5-Varnish is new and unplayed directly from an authorized dealer, and the MT2-Varnish is two years old with some modest playwear and some mild varnish "bubbling" near the bridge.

The MF5-Varnish lists for $10K and sells new for $9K. Spectacular smoky Collings sunburst, silky adirondack top and high-flame maple back and sides. I suspect if you're looking seriously that you know what these things sound like. I would sell for $7,500 OBRO via bankwire, shipped overnight. I haven't seen one available used--this is a new mandolin minus the factory warranty. Happy to discuss other payment options if you'll share the pain. Please PM me with your email address for pictures.

I'll try to get some pictures taken of the MT2-Varnish and a price posted as well.

Not really interested in trades, but I'll listen; generally have a soft spot for Brazilian/Adirondack Collings dreads, preferably in 1 23/32" or 1 11/16". Varnish is a plus. Sunburst is a plus.

Regards, J
