#3734009290 One of 20 made by CF Martin. As-New. Amazon is a beautiful red-brick rosewood that is hard to find becasue the trees do not usually grow big enough. Martin made only 50 guitars out of their shipment ( 30 dreads and 20 OMs) and they have no more of it. Thanks for looking.

Amazon Rosewood is from Brazil and is red-brick like in color. Very attractive and balanced like "typical Brazilian."

#3735619898; Cool email from Martin:

"Amazon rosewood (botanical name: Dalbergia spruceana) is from Brazil, and there is very little documentation available about this species. However, the trees rarely grow large enough to produce material of suitable size and quality for acoustic guitar backs and sides and it is quite scarce in quantity. The species also has a very wide range of colors and grain appearance making it difficult to match backs and sides for guitars. The species is heavier than Brazilian rosewood and EastIndian rosewood, so these guitars were built with slightly thinner backs and sides. It is reported that these guitars and other guitars made of this species sound great. After purchasing enough for 100 sets, we inspected the material according to our specifications and only accepted enough wood for about 70 sets. After processing and matching, we only had enough sets to make a limited edition of 50 guitars - 30 D42AR and 20 OM42AR. Should this species become available again in suitable sizes and quality, we will certainly entertain purchases for future limited edition and custom use.

Best regards,

Linda R. Davis-Wallen
