I know the market is soft, but thought I'd see if anyone is interested in buying my beautiful Collings CJ. Inside label says "5/98 CH-BaA." Great condition, original case. Collings just gave me an estimated value of $8100, but I could use the cash and will sell it for $7k.

Collings offered you a "value" for this guitar? Did you send it to them to see? I didn't realize they did this.

Or did they give you list price for a new guitar with those options?

I believe it's the latter- but of course that supposes that collings is making Brazilian guitars, which they are currently not. I'd think seven even is a more than fair price, but I'm in no position to do any more than suffer wood lust. My guess is that guitar honks, big time. tm

On the craiglist site the options are broken down with pricing if you were purchasing a new guitar.

CJ 3850
Ba 3000
A 1000
case 250
TOTAL LIST PRICE = $8,100.00
