Not that this thread really needs further addressing...but I'll pipe in with my 2 cents...

a. Dave is as honest as they come, and has had more Collings than Warren Beatty has had starletts. He can't keep 'em all and just ordered a custom Collings Annete Benning. May he find the one for him, and this OM1A be the one for someone else.

b. I played this guitar, and it's a stunner every which way. If you're in the market for an OM1A, you'd be thrilled to have this versatile do-everything gorgeous tone machine. It's 6 years old, and the Adirondack is doing things it just couldn't when it was new...and it looks like it was made yesterday... with that rich, pristine sunburst that few other than Collings have figured out how to nail.

best of all worlds, and priced fairly...you can't ask for more perfect go-to ax for live and/or studio.

I'm reluctantly coming down to $3,100. Have a lot of recording/production expenses on my new project. I need to sell.

A 6 1/2 year old OM1ASB in pristine condition!

This is a slamming deal people!

Hey Dave , seeing as you aren't having much success in selling your guitar in the States , any chance that you'd ship abroad i.e. to France .I know it's a long shot . Cheers

Never considered shipping abroad. I have no idea how much it costs and other issues involved. If you have more info and want to communicate further feel free to email me. d.murphy1@att.net

Here we go again with the price police. It seems to me that if someone has a problem with the price of a guitar they can either ignore it or send a private message to the seller.

Since the price of an "OM-2HGBS" at Buffalo Brothers was used as an example, it would be relevant to mention that the price of a new OM-2HASB at Elderly is $4700. At least it has an Adirondack top like Dave's guitar. See:

http://elderly.com/new_instruments/items/COM2HASB.htm

By the way, Dave is not asking $3350 for his guitar. He is selling it for $3100 including shipping. In my world, that is a great deal.

Yeh ,Daves price is incredibly low for a guitar of this caliber . I'd have had it off his hands in a wink if only I lived in the States .Come on , somebody should buy this guitar and put me out of misery

Chris...photo's heading your way.

To Mr. Ron Davidson and to the rest of the Price and Thought Police...

Number One ....Please read the post before you make editorial comments.

Number Two...Get educated...Collings pricing is not a mystery. In almost ALL cases a new Collings sells for the MRSP minus 10%. Collings dealers are not allowed to sell new Collings for more than 10% off the retail price and seldom do. Used Collings hold their value very well. Especially ones in pristine condition with Adirondack Tops, like the one I have for sale. As matter of fact, some people might find it more of a value to buy a used guitar with an Adirondack top that has some age on it, as it takes some time for an Adirondack top to break-in. With this guitar you get a guitar that is 6 1/2 years old but it’s in close to new condition.

Number Three...My price which is $3,100 (not what you quoted) includes 2-day air in lower 48...which most likely will be well over $100. The price that you quoted did not include shipping and certainly not 2-day air.

Number Four...My price is extremely fair compared to the market. Your example is not even an apples to apples comparison. Come on now! My guitar has a Red Spruce/Adirondack Top, which makes the guitar more expensive when you buy it new compared to the one you cited.

Number Five...Are you a former Prosecutor from Durham, NC?

Butt out partner! I'm so tired of people talking trash about this deal, my patience has been exhausted. Some people even posted negative comments and then edited/deleted part of their posts after they read my explanation. Why don't these people stand by what they wrote or write a retraction instead of deleting the post like it never existed? Don't they understand that people read their post...the damage is done? How 'bout a little integrity?

What makes it especially ridiculous is that (although the market is the market) this guitar is probably under priced if anything and whoever ends up with it will be getting a great guitar at an extremely fair price.

I've always had such great interactions with people on this forum, I don't know where all these uninformed comments are coming from.

Lastly for those folks who know me (or not) and have made positive comments...Thank you very much, it's much appreciated.

Cheers!
Dave

The price is very fair. If I didn't already own three OM's, I might well be after it. Chill, brethren.
