So Kenny, you questioned the motive...I don’t believe I owe anyone this explanation (other than a potential buyer) and if I wanted to sell this guitar for a profit what in God’s name could possibly wrong with that? But that is not the case, and just for clarification, I’ll share my thought process on my pricing…

Papple advertised the guitar for $3,250…he sold it to me for $3,200. I’m asking $3,350 and I’m including 2-day air to anywhere in the continental US. This is because I want to make sure the guitar arrives safe and sound and is not exposed to the cold air any longer than possible. Okay, here’s my thought process…so I give myself $50 wiggle room to negotiate, reasonable right? So since I’m willing to go $50 off my asking price, I'll end up selling the guitar for $3,300… This is $100 more than what I paid for it....Do any of you fellas know how much it cost to ship a guitar 2-day air from New Jersey say to Texas? At least 100 bucks…It cost $131 to ship 2-day from Wisconsin to New Jersey that I know for sure.

So if it cost me $100 or $150 to ship the guitar, you can see that I’m just breaking even on the deal if anything. And as I said, if you live local, we would work something out.

So is that okay with you Kenny?

No-Talent: Yes, I bought this guitar 3 or 4 few weeks ago and now I'm selling it...Was it an impulsive purchase…yes it was. Did something good come out of it? Yes I made a nice friend in Papple…that’s one of the cool things about this forum.

But if you’re assuming that the guitar is a dog because of that…then you’d be very wrong. I need the check-up, not the guitar.

After all that…Most importantly…Thanks to all you other guys for saying what you said I REALLY appreciate it.

Dave

STOP the INSANITY !!!

Mea Culpa !

Many pardons for trying to perform a public service to the buying public.

Which way to the whipping post?

Dave best of luck on your sale!
Hope I didn't sabotage it too badly.

Appreciate the Mea Culpa no-talent...but perhaps in the future you could think twice before you perform your "public service" I'm just trying to sell a guitar over here...but in the future your zealousness may not be so benign.

It's not at all uncommon to turn a guitar over in a couple months if conditions warrant, or another sale requires us middle class folk to liquidate. The price is not in the least out of line, and I've seen the same guitar for sale at least three times in the same year. Judge not lest ye be judged, I think the saying goes. I might be interested myself if I wasn't OM'ed to the hilt.

Not that Dave needs any further defense (he said it very well himself), but I've dealt with him and IMHO he's righteous, period. That's also very clear from virtually all who have posted on this thread. I immediately dismissed no_talent's post for what it obviously was.....mean spirited and misguided. No doubt that OM-1ASB will make some buyer very happy.

Wow,

Pardons are hard to come by in these parts !
You try to ask for penitence, and the stones just keep flying. Can we just get back to out regularly-scheduled programming... i.e., an OM1ASB SALE ... and dispense with the further character references and assassinations.

I just wanted to point out what appeared odd behavior to me. Granted I admit it wasn't my business. Dave has explained it perfectly well.
Sorry it happened, but what's done is done.

So let it Die, and quit piling on! Geez.

Just another endorsement of Dave. He's a great guy and as honest as they get. I've done two deals with him and couldn't be happier.

Bumpedy-bump-bump to this needlessly controversial post. Eek

As I said in my previous post, I’m willing to sell this gem for exactly what I paid for it. $3,200 plus shipping of your choice. Really not much different than my original price…it’s just warming up a bit here and I’m not insisting that we ship 2-day air…it’s buyers choice…unless you live in the Yukon.

This is a superb guitar in pristine condition. I’d rather have an Adirondack topped guitar that has aged for 6 plus years over a new one any day. You will save well over $1,000 and you won't have to wait for the red spruce top to mature.

A similar spec’ed model of the same year was recently selling for about $500 more at Cotton Music (and that was not over-priced).

Point being is that this guitar is reasonably priced and like I said before, if you’re in the northeast and want to stop by to play it, inspect it, smell it or just gaze at the beautiful burst your more than welcome.

This guitar will speak for itself.

But what I should mention is it’s resting comfortably in its TKL case with properly controlled humidity in a smoke-free environment.

Thanks.

Just a friendly bump for a awesome guitar from a Great Fellow Forumite. I can't believe that nobody is interested in this stunning Sunburst OM1A in pristine condition with the voice of an angel.

Dave's deciding to sell it has nothing to do with any issues about this guitar. Truth be known he ordered a new custom built Collings and needs to sell the OM1ASB to fund that purchase. We all can't afford to keep every guitar that comes along and every once in a while we all have been known to buy something we shouldn't have. I've had owned 8 Collings in the last 3-4 years and now only own 2 of those. This OM is only 1 of 2 of those that I truly wouldn't mind owning again except for my lust for Collings best Dreadnaught.

Do yourself a favor and if you are considering a Mahogany OM this is a keeper.

Later,
Papple
