2000 OM1ASB

Excellent+ Condition
Beautiful Sunburst
1 3/4 Nut Width
w/Collings Deluxe TKL case

Everything you'd expect a 6 year old+ OM1A to be. Great guitar!!! Really nothing else to say.

Photo's available upon request. Looking for 3,350 and I'll pay 2-Day air in cont. US. It's awful cold in the northeast these days.
If you're local and can pick it up we'll work something out...this is what I'd prefer. I'm 15 minutes from NYC.

Serious inquiries only.

Thanks.
Dave

Dave,
I don't get it.
Just last December you were in negotiations with Papple for an OM1ASB. (See late December ads in FS, WTB or Trade)
Now here you are about 6-8 weeks later trying to sell the same guitar model that you were interested in purchasing just last December !?
What gives, did you pick up a dog, and now you want to unload it?
Were you interested in a back-up guitar last December, and now you've suddenly decided you hate 'hog guitars?
'Spose it 'taint none of my bidness, but sure looks odd.

Yo No Talent,
I'll stick my nose were it probably doesn't be long. The guitar is not a dog, infact in my and other Forum members who have played it opinions it is far from a dog. It is as close to being new as you can get and the tone is sublime. This is a 6 + year old Collings in mint condition with a Adirondack top that has matured very nicely. Try getting a opened up Adirondack top on any new guitar with or without fretmarkers, and you will soon see the error of your ways.

Dave contacted me when he decided to sell it giving me the option to buy it back. I would love to have it back but unfortunately my Dreadnaughts are my weapon of choice for the time being. Who ever ends up with this guitar will be totally blown away by everything it does. Excellent Tone, Playability and O-My what a Looker, what more could you ask for. I'll let Dave chime in if he chooses to tell you exactly why he is selling it. Let's just say that he has another all Mahogany Collings that he can't bear to sell because he's become attached to his old friend. I'm sure he will let you in on the rest of the story soon.

Later,
Papple

I think these kinds of questions that no_talent brings up are legitimate questions any buyer should be thinking of when buying a new guitar. I know I look through the old posts for the history of posters and their herd, or the guitar in particular if it's there.

However, I really don't think it's appropriate to bring up these kinds of questions in someone's for sale post. It's rude, and as shown here, off base. I think yes, it's none of anyone's bidness but the seller and potential buyer.

Mail the seller if you have questions like that. I'd be really steamed if someone dumped on my for sale thread with this kind of thing. People, try to be more judicious, and remember, most used Collings are going to be superlative guitars.

Dave, best of luck with selling what I'm sure is a fantastic instrument.

Also,to chime in,I'm playing a great OM that I bought from Dave through this forum a couple of years ago. A delightful person to deal with by phone and a talented writer and musician to boot

At the risk of being flamed, I want to agree that No Talent's questions are a bit out of line. Since a forum belongs to those of us who use and read it, I want to vote for civility over accusation, which is the tone of No Talent's posting.

There are a lot of reasons why someone would need to sell a recently purchased guitar. I know because I've had to do it before myself - but not because a guitar was a "dog". Certainly not a Collings as I don't believe there is such a thing. I've played many and haven't found a dog yet.

I think it's fair to ask why someone was selling a recent purchase, but I do not believe it's fair to then suggest answers that accuse a seller of less than honorable motives - unless you have specific evidence this is the case.

Truth is, suggestions like No Talent's say more about the one posing the question than the one selling the guitar, in my view.

I've played Papple's OM-1A, it is stellar, in mint condition for a year 2000 guitar.

no-talent's post was completely out of line.

by the way, most of us on this forum realize that one of the cool things about buying a used Collings, is that you can move it later with very little if any loss. For that reason, you can buy a model that your are not 100% sure about, and then sell it if it turns out it's not for you. I don't see any reason to suspect foul play when that happens.
