I hate to do it but I just bought an old Herringbone and some have to go. I bought this guitar new a few months ago. This one has alot of bearclaw on top, very attrative. Sounds great. Has the Vintage Now neck with the thru saddle. It has a few small little specks on top or ultra small dings, mostly around the pickguard area. Otherwise, its mint. These are hard to come by but this one is available for $4500.00 plus shipping within the US. Pictures are available. Contact me at tele52@windstream.net
I might be interested, but new ones are to be had for 4800 and change. Of course, yours is available now, and others may not be. One heckuva guitar, I expect. thanks tom
What's this, a tag team? Let's just say I turned down a mint one last weekend for 3900. Yeah, I'm stone crazy, and I realize that. But there are examples floating around iff'n you're prepared to look around. That one is now off the market. Jump when the jumpin's good.
Sonoman you cannot use your example to justify what my guitar is worth. Thats just an isolated case of someone selling there guitar too cheap. Sure we need to jump when the jumpins good. Thats sorta like saying if I saw an original 39 Herringbone D-28 that sold for 20K. Well, that dont mean squat as to the real value.Plus I bet the one you saw didnt have the top that mine has on it. No big deal...
I'm sure your guitar is worth every penny. But there are times when folks need to sell quickly and privately. I can't reveal details without jeopardizing the seller's privacy, but the guitar was perfect, and, played next to an actual '36 D18 (none of that Authentic nonsense), sounded every bit as good. I just don't have a need for a dreadnought right now. But don't think I haven't kicked myself for not pulling the trigger anyway. Good luck, kwoo64, and I"m sure some happy player will plunk down the funds before long.
