I think I've finally decided that I really would like to have a Collings rosewood OM. Either an OM2H or OM3. Prefer cutaway, but not a necessity. 1 3/4" nut is a necessity. Vintage neck option a plus. Prefer sitka top, but will consider adirondack or german too. Brazilian is probably out of my $$ range. Email pics and asking price to allenwhite@austin.rr.com.

Greetings Friends and Nieghbors,
I was in Madison yesterday and stopped in at the local Collings dealer and noticed they had a awesome used OM1 available. I sat and played it and the sound was a lot nicer then I expected. I'm kind of biased towards Rosewood or so I thought and it really made me want to look at other types of tone woods. That guitar and Allens Martin had a warmer sound and I'll have to keep my ears open. I'm kind of guitar rich right now and I'm sure that sometime down the road something else will follow me home. If you are interested in the OM1 give Mike Turk a call a tell him you read about it here.

Drove to Bellville, TX, today and picked up my new-to-me 2001 Collings OM-3 (thanks Lance). First impression is it's exactly what I was looking for. Now I can leave the Martin OM in DADGAD while I learn LJ's Different Times and work on tunes in other tunings with the Collings OM. Life is good. Smile

Congrats! I love my OM3.

I guess I need to find another line of work. I can't afford 2 Collings guitars. :-)
