Is anyone out there in the market for such an animal? It is a 1999 model that I bought used not too very long ago from The Podium. I have since decided that it is one of the low hanging fruit to liquidate given the need to streamline and the desire to to trade guitars (such a frustrating feeling this is!). It's got a 1 13/16" nut and has a Sitka top & EIR back and sides. Long scale and bone nut and saddle. It is a great sounding guitar with absolutley no nicks, scratches or other marks.
For those of you not familiar with Collings' numbering scheme, this is a 000-size instrument (Duh!) designed after a pre-War Martin, in the style of a -28. This is a slothead and the "H" indicates herringbone trim, so what you basically have is a pre-war Martin 000-28VS. One of the advantages of the Collings neck attachment (bolted-on), especially for non-original owners, is the much lower cost of neck resets (although this guitar does not need one and I don't think I know of any Collings that have - although I suspect they have had). By the way, there is very little fret wear on this guy, so there is no need for a refret or fret dressing either. Comes with a brand new 000-12fret-size case. I'd like to get $2700 + shipping/insurance (probably about $80 in the CONUS). If it doesn't sell I won't be heart-broken, and I'll miss it if it does.
