I need to sell my 1999 OM-1A. Signed and hand dated 12/99. The last batch of the last century.
Being the Collings forum I do not need to go into too much detail spec wise. This has the 1 3/4" width at nut. The three or four top dings are too small to show up in photos. There is one small millimeter ding on the side of the headstock near the D string tuner. The top scratches are light and few as I use my fingers primarily. The back scratches are also light. It has never needed repair or adjustment of any kind and is basically in the same shape you often see new guitars in guitar stores. It has a strap button in the usual place on the bottom side next to the neck. The Adirondack top is very nice with some red streaking and straight grain, wide to narrow. Sound leaps out of it with a light touch in that way only a Collings with Adirondack does, and it has endless headroom. Great for playing lead guitar as you can dig into the voice and it responds well to everything you bring to it. I have run into considerable economic straights since I ordered a custom Brazilian/Adirondack OM cutaway and have to pay that off before construction can continue. It was on Ebay last week, but of course everyone expects me to sell it for half its value. Which, of course, I won’t do. But I will come down to $2,600 and pay shipping or $2,500 plus shipping. That is about $1,000 less than a new one and my top has opened up and warmed up a lot since I bought it. Please email me for photos and any questions. Thanks tsphillips@nyc.rr.com |

Why are you doing this to me? Is this a conspiracy? First mistake was to play a Collings at Acoustic Roots. My second was to go to this board at all.
