Greetings all.

I bought Bill's OM-2HA a couple weeks ago with the intention of having the closest possible Collings to A/B with the Borges OM-28 at Cotten (which has been tormenting me for months now). The Borges arrived this week and it was the victor.

That being said, Bill's former OM-2HA is very, very good. In fact, a couple of our esteemed colleageus here on this Forum guessed (via recording) that it was the Borges.

Playability is great, sound is great, condition is outstanding ... and the all-wood binding is a very cool (and expensive) addition.

I've chosen to list it on eBay since it hung around here for a while, but I'll take $3,000 + shipping (thereby recovering my cost) for anyone on the Forum who is interested in it. If you're looking for a great Collings Adirondack OM, I don't think you can do better than this one ... particularly at this price, which is about 2/3 of current retail.

If it goes unsold, I'll be consigning it in a week.

I'll paste one shot here and there are more pictures at the listing HERE

Email me at mw0705@mac.com if you have any questions.

Thanks,

As one of the rubes who guessed this was the Borges, I can attest to the fact that this is one superfine, non-granulated, mighty sweet rosewood OM. Buy it. Wood binding, for cryin' out loud. (this advertisement unpaid, unsolicited, and, quite possibly, unwanted). tom

The OM-2HA is going to a new home tomorrow. I may or may not have a D1A for sale in the near future. Stay tuned.

It sold already? That didn't take long.

Indeed, the recording was awfully nice!

Gone already, yes. I decided to take a partial (nearly full) trade. The "trade" part might resurface here again soon, though, given that I'm not a dread guy.

We'll see how it goes ...

I've just returned from a 4 hour round trip guitar swap journey. What fun!! Anyway, the OM2HA I got from Mike is a great sounding guitar, and the wood binding really adds a cool look. Also, my wife decided if Mike (a Professor at A&M) trades guitars like I do, maybe trading ain't all that bad!

Howard, if I am the litmus test for rationality (rationality of ANY sort) then the world -- as Roland of Gilead might say -- has moved on ...

The Borges is the perfect rosewood OM and I've got a maple one coming from Blazer & Henkes two years out. I can say with a fair amount of confidence that there will be no other 48-inch boxes arriving at my house in the interim. And that, indeed, is saying something.

Happy trails,

Mike
