Ron Davidson,

I am new to this forum, however in another thread http://collingsforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/55660426/m/2681074134 it was mentioned that they have been seen for $3645 best price new now.I set my price based on that.

On other forums your post would be called thread crapping, and there would be a common undestanding that if a price was out of line that you would politely post this or do it by PM.

Pease fill me in, is sarcasm a legitimate form of price correction? If so excuse my ignorance. Even UMGF which has a few testy posters would not do this.

I am open to constructive price correction from anyone who is truly interested.

respectfully, gerry

With all due respect, I have been toying with the idea of getting either a 000-2H or Martin 000-28VS for some time. I already own a Collings DS2H and love it.
The best new online price I have found on the Martin is about what a nice used 0002H sells for.
But your asking price for your guitar is your business so you can take what I just said as a suggestion if you wish. Good luck with the sale.

You don't usually get that sort of feedback Gerry. I will provide some positive feedback. I have a 000-3C. Same guitar, few more frills and a cutaway. I love this guitar. Great projection, warm tone, great sustain, plays like a dream.

Just noticed you're in Milton. I'm in Burlington. That's coincidental.

Regardless. You might want to confirm the nut width. This is a great forum, and don't let the odd post get to you. There are a ton of good people on this site. Sarcasm with respect to price is unwarranted and particularly when it appears not to be based on fact.

There will always be deals on used guitars, but Collings guitars generally hold a reasonable price, especially recently manufactured ones.

I took a quick look, and it appears that the list is between $3900 and $4100 depending on a few things, slothead or otherwise, and perhaps a few other things I'm unfamiliar with. Someone can chime in if they wish to correct me.

With discount that would take it to between $3500 to $3600. Most new guitars receive standard discount. So you are not off on your pricing. Selling these guitars takes a little patience some times, and if it doesn't go on this forum, consider shipping it and getting a US store to sell it.

Sometimes comfort with long time posters helps the sale.

$2700 would be a deal. $3000 is a fair price. I paid $4750 with cutaway and all the trimmings and don't regret a penny of it. Best money I ever spent.

All the best and good luck with your sale. If someone wants an independent third party to inspect the guitar prior to sale, I can make myself available, subject to gerry's approval. No affiliation.

All the best,

Stuart
