A half answer to your question, I don't know off hand of any used Mandos for sale. BUT you being in Ga I would suggest you call Herb Trotman over in Birmingham Ala. Fretted Instruments.
He is a Collings dealer and always has a good selection of both guitars and mandos coming and going. Last time I was there he had an MF with a little finish blem on the top that he was looking to deal on. Problably as cheap as used if it's still there.
Give him a call.

Hi Rick, and thanks for the info. I'll call him first thing tomorrow. Any info here about the differences between the MF and the Gibson F9? I know the F9 is a bit more affordable, but what about the sound? Any opinions?

Can't help ya on the comparison thing.
I traded a geetar for my first mando less than a year ago, so I really don't know much about em yet.

there are a couple of MF's over on the mandolincafe.com classifieds. several are winfield wins with the special headstock inlay.
