Dana Bourgeois has earned a reputation at the forefront of the handbuilt acoustic guitar world. He and guitarist Eric Schoenberg are singlehandedly responsible for the revival of the '30's OM design during the mid-'80's- it's hardly surprising that Dana's OM's are thought to be some of the finest built today.

In recent years, Dana's guitars have been bought, used, and endorsed by heavy-hitters like Bryan Sutton, Ricky Skaggs, The Dixie Chicks, Alison Kraus' band Union Station, Jerry Douglas, and many others. Sean Watkins of Nickel Creek has been associated w/ a signature-model Bourgeois OM that is identical to mine, but includes a cutaway, and abalone rosette- and costs a good deal more, as well!

This guitar was built in November, 2001, is in "near-mint" condition, and has unusually gorgeous Indian Rosewood B&S, a flawless Adirondack spruce top, 1 3/4" nut width, ebony bridge and fingerboard w/ traditional diamonds and squares inlay, Herringbone purfling, grained ivoroid binding, heel cap and butt wedge, nickel Waverly tuners, and OHSC. It's been played enough to have really opened the top up, and has a great, pleasing vintage voice for fingerstyle OR country-style flatpicking. It's setup to be play very easily, w/o buzzing at any point. Oh, yes... it also has a pro-installed Pickup The World #27 SBT pickup installed, which has received a lot of praise in recent years as one of the best PU's out there for acoustic guitar.

I'm looking for $2000 for it- this is an excellent price on a topnotch guitar!
JPEG's available... post w/ any questions.

Hello, Ed-

Hope you're continuing to enjoy the Thompson! After all that it took to get it there, I'd certainly like to think so... Wink
